Where's the Justice?

I went to my room earlier and I heard a portion of TV news. It's about the Maguindanao Massacre. I haven't wrote any blog regarding what happen to our fellow Filipinos in the South. For what I believed, as long as I am not involve, I don't give a damn. But not this time.

From November 23, 2009 up to this day, the truth is not yet clear. Though there are already suspects for the massacre, still not yet convicted and some might freely making round round here. Personally I am very sad of what had happen to those who are innocent and to those who are victim of misconception. Fifty-seven defenseless civilan people lost their lives in less than an hour. Lost their families and love ones in a glimpse of an eye. Lost their dreams. Lost everything of them.

Mayor Andal Unsai Ampatuan is said to be the prime suspect of the well-known massacre in the Philippine history. He is a member of one Mindanao's leading Muslim political clans: the Ampatuans. His family is considered as the most prominent in Maguindanao. Others says they owned the south. They can control everything. They can do wathever they want to do. Its like they have the world in their hands.

The suspect who was taken into custody of NBI is just an initial action they reinforced as part of the due process. No justice yet. I believe this case will take long but as I heard earlier to his lawyer, they are appealing for the immediate resolution since his client has been judge already even if the hearing is not yet over.

They are like monsters for me. If this family can control everything, I hope in terms of giving justice wouldn't be. This massacre won't happen if we people won't let the so called "political dynasty" ruled our nation. Over the years, a lot of provinces in our country is being ruled by one clan or family. They own the local government leading them to have the power, the money and the respect that supposedly we gave to those who deserve it. Politics is the root of all the greediness and selfishness of all. Once they have the position, if it turns to let go, they can't that's why they are forced to do evil things. Like what happened in Maguindanao, the Ampatuans' wants to retain their position thats why they intercepted the convoy of the opposing party.

I hope that justice is still in a right path. The massacre is not a doing of God's son. It is evil. It is unhuman. Let's all pray for the justice for the victims of Maguindanao Massacre.

"You have to love yourself more than anything else" - Judy S. Chu, M.D

Day 1

Last Thursday, I woke up to take a bath before I go to work however I can't do so due to dizziness. I slept again trying to relieve the feelings, but every time I open my eyes, everything around me is moving and rolling. I have a slight fever. My throat is also in pain.

I called my manager that I can't go for work today co'z my mom really wants me to see a doctor. My mom also talked to Mam Edna to ask permission.

I took my breakfast first before going to hospital co'z it may take time there.

While on cab, I really feel bad co'z my headache is getting intense. I wanna throw up.

We arrived at Emergency Room of Chinese General Hospital and its good thing that we assisted immediately. I was taken a BP and its normal 110/80. The thing is in ER, they do not accept my Maxicare Health Card, leading me to go directly to the coordinator which is located in the other building. I had no choice but to proceed. In maxicare office i was immediately referred to their partner doctor, Dra. Judy Chu, MD.

When I was in her clinic, she took another BP, this time its not good co'z my bp is 160/100. As per her, its normal co'z I took the stairs and walk to reached her place, sometimes it make sense. She also advised the need to take antibiotic for my swollen throat and undergo some lab test like CBC count.

I went to the hospital laboratory (looks familiar, fyi Im always at lab for Kojic soap). The girl extracted a blood sample from my arm and advised me to come back the following day for the result.

Day 2

I went to the hospital today again for the result of my blood test.

Good thing I'm clear. However the doctor told me that I have to monitor my blood pressure. No juices. No junkfoods. Drink more water. No more sodas :(( and I have to take a strict diet from now on. Im not getting younger and too much weight is not good for my bones especially for my cartillage. As per her, it may lead to rheumatic disease. She says, "you have to love yourself more than anything else co'z its for your own good".

Another brilliant doctor came in my path to give me a word of wisdom. I wish there are a lot people like her who's not just do her job because she is being paid, but do her responsibility to her patient with care.

PULIKAT

I'm sleeping peacefully when a painfull sensation suddenly pierces on my leg heading me to wake up. Shit! Nagising ako in the middle of the night screaming on top of my lungs dahil sa leg cramps known as "pulikat". It's excruciatingly painful, very uncommon and not just like as pain if being stubbed. Felt like I'm downright humiliated. The pain is intense and only getting worst. I'm dead serious that it's really annoying. I wanna scream and cry but due to intense pain my tears wont even come. I cannot straighten my leg, the muscles have become so tight that my calf now feels like a rock. The worst is I can't stand up.

I immediately bend my right leg to stop the cramp and thank God I made it. I took a glass of water and stretched my injured leg. Im back to bed and staring the ceiling wondering what I did earlier to have this cramp. Then I recall, earlier in the party I'm wearing a 3 inches heeled wedge. Sigh. Added is the long wait for a cab in Makati Ave..

Now I'm blogging this co'z I can't help it sharing since my right leg is still aching. The following are the causes of cramps "pulikat" while sleeping as per my friend named: Google

  1. Low calcium and potassium in the blood
  2. Lack of proper fluids, resulting in a mild case of dehydration
  3. Not getting enough blood circulation can cause cramping.
In my case, since i had an activity yesterday, my feet get tired.

Google said:
People wearing the wrong shoes can end up with leg and feet cramps. Improper footwear can be too high of a high heel shoe, non-padded flat sandals, exercising in something other than a tennis shoe, or simply not wearing shoes while doing some form of execise.

Thanks Google!

MCC Christmas Party '09

2009 MCC Christmas Party was very successful. Held at A.Venue Hall, Makati Ave.,(same place), party starts at 7:00pm.

I was very nervous yesterday since i dont want to miss any single moment in the annual dance competition where my office mates gracefully participated. The traffic in Makati ave is terrible due to concert for the CNN hero Efren Penaflorida. Given the fact that my shift ends at 6:30pm, 30 minutes travel even via cab will still not enough to make it on time. I, Melodie and Gracey decided to take a cab at Dela Rosa.. and guess what?..a lot of cab rider also waiting there. sigh!

Thank God that a one though not so posh and speedy cab came and took us to the place.

Our arrival was one of the amazing highlight of my night. We arrived on time enough to watch our division's presentation. it has a lot of fun and cheers for the participants. I enjoyed the event coz the place is good. The food, actually i wasnt able to check further if its in good quality coz im also busy taking pictures and looking whose who in the party..LOLs

As far as I recall, there is penne macaroni which i didn't like the taste. Trina(good friend) told me that it's almost spoiling.hehe but Jun got much of that food..hahaha (ok pa kaya tummy nya).

To sum it up, the event was really fantastic, co'z CS won again for the 3rd time (grandslam). Everybody is happy and proud. Staff and officers are glad and full of energy dancing on the floor. The party is truly an anticipating event every year but for me who is part of CS-the champion, every year is a surprise co'z who knows we all made it.

High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)

I wasn't able to go to work today because my mom is sick. She has a high fever and suffering a terrible headache since last night. She also has hypertension. I just wondering why my mom has this kind of illness. She's been very healthy before and with active lifestyle.

I ask help to Google the causes and some overview of High Blood Pressure.

What Is High Blood Pressure?

High blood pressure (HBP) is a serious condition that can lead to coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, and other health problems."Blood pressure" is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps out blood. If this pressure rises and stays high over time, it can damage the body in many ways.

What Causes High Blood Pressure?

Blood pressure tends to rise with age, unless you take steps to prevent or control it.

Certain medical problems, such as chronic kidney disease, thyroid disease, and sleep apnea, may cause blood pressure to rise. Certain medicines, such as asthma medicines (for example, corticosteroids) and cold-relief products, also may raise blood pressure.

In some women, blood pressure can go up if they use birth control pills, become pregnant, or take hormone replacement therapy.

Women taking birth control pills usually have a small rise in both systolic and diastolic blood pressures. If you already have high blood pressure (HBP) and want to use birth control pills, make sure your doctor knows about your HBP. Talk to him or her about how often you should have your blood pressure checked and how to control it while taking the pill.

How Can High Blood Pressure Be Prevented?

  1. Follow a healthy eating plan. This includes limiting the amount of sodium (salt) and alcohol that you consume.
  2. Lose weight if you're overweight or obese.
  3. Do enough physical activity.
  4. Quit smoking.
  5. Manage your stress and learn to cope with stress.

Thank you Jerwin and Merwin

I received last night a package from my two special friends Jerwin and Merwin who's working now in Abu Dhabi UAE.

They sent me 2 chocolate packs and I really enjoyed it. I also shared it with my sister and my cousin. The taste is good and I just realized that we don't have here in the Philippines. I believed this is exclusively distributed in UAE. I love the hazelnut inside the chocolate bar as well as the caramel in it.

Thanks for both of you and send me more. LOL

Anyway, I'm still waiting for another Christmas gift from them.-:))
